Although Matema is the most well-known, these beaches especcially the Mwaya beach are more spectacular and private worthy of a visit in comparison to Matema which is sot of congested. The beaches are good for swimming, sunbathing, birdwatching, and fishing. Excursions to each of these beaches begin at a set starting point, and involve a walk, bike ride, or drive to the beach, with stops at various sites along the way (eg. cocoa farms, banana plantations, looking at old Nyakusa houses and even cultural dances on request etc.).

Accommodation and meals can be arranged there with prior notice . Also, visitors may bring a tent for camping on the beaches. In the future, we plan on building visitors’ huts.

Duration: half day, full day, or overnight
