Kyela Envirocare offers tours around the Kyela District, as well as the neighbouring Tukuyu District which has the Kaporogwe falls amongst other things like The big tree in Masoko.Lake Kisiba which has historical tales.Tours can also be organized for regions in the northern circuit, including the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Arusha National Park,Mikumi and Selous Game Reserves.
Our guides are natives of Kyela, who have been trained by our organization to cater to clients’ needs. Our tours include visits to the beaches of Lake Nyasa, Mwalalo and Mwalisi rivers waterfalls, and other geographical features, Nyakyusa cultural dances like kibhota,ing'oma,mang'orong'ondo,magosi,samba historical areas, bird-watching, and an appreciation of nature in general.
Each tour includes a major attraction as well as visits to nearby villages. The options for transportation are walking, cycling, or motor vehicle (motorcycle or car), depending on the distance, and the client’s preference.
The tour may be half day, full day, or overnight, depending on the specific tour and the client’s preference.
The fee is discussed beforehand and will likely include the following:
1. Development fee – This portion of the fee is used as a donation to selected villages near the tourist attractions. The fee is used for
education, health, road construction, water well construction, etc. We take precautions to ensure that the money is used for its intended purpose.
2. Guide fee
3. Meals and soft drinks for the clients and guides
4. Transport charges
5. Accommodation (for the tourists and the guides where there is an overnight)
6. Co-ordination fee
The fee above does not include extras – eg. watching traditional dances (ngomas), visiting traditional healers, buying arts & crafts, etc.
We also accept tips but only when the clients feel free to give.
